Empowering Future Entrepreneurs: Successful Completion of EDP in Golaghat

We are proud to announce the successful completion of a 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) aimed at empowering the youth of Assam. Conducted by Rakta Sanjeevani (NGO) sponsored by PM- DAKSH Scheme under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India and implemented by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati at Golaghat Pub Anchalik College, this initiative focused on equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to build sustainable businesses.

Event Overview

The program ran from February 17 to February 28, 2024, and was specifically organized for individuals from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) in the Golaghat district. The primary goal was to enhance entrepreneurial abilities, refine skills, and strengthen the motivation required to manage a business successfully.

Objectives of the Programme

The EDP was designed with several key objectives to ensure holistic development for the participants:

  • Developing and enhancing entrepreneurial qualities.
  • Equipping trainees with professional knowledge and strategies.
  • Providing insights into the advantages and challenges of entrepreneurship.
  • Understanding the procedures involved in establishing small enterprises.

Participant Highlights

The selection committee at Golaghat Pub Anchalik College selected 30 enthusiastic participants out of 35 applicants. The cohort included a diverse mix of existing and aspiring entrepreneurs.

  • Total Participants: 30
  • Gender Breakdown: 20 Male, 10 Female.

Curriculum and Learning

Over the course of 10 days, participants engaged in a comprehensive curriculum covering 30 distinct topics, including:

  • Foundations: Self-analysis, motivation, and opportunity identification.
  • Management: Basic enterprise management, quality management, and effective communication.
  • Financial Literacy: Financial planning, GST, taxation, and statutory norms for bank loans.
  • Marketing: Sales basics, market surveys, product promotion, and digital marketing (Social Media, Google My Business).

Resource Persons

The sessions were led by a distinguished panel of resource persons, including successful entrepreneurs, bank representatives, and trainers:

  • Pinaz Haque & Rusena Begum: Successful Entrepreneurs.
  • Dibya Jyoti Das: District Resource Person, DICC Golaghat.
  • Deepjyoti Nath (PNB) & Chirajul Haque (Indian Bank): Bank Representatives.
  • Tridip Dutta, Pranjal Buragohain, Punam Saikia, Barbi Hazarika, & Apurba Gohain: EDP Trainers and Marketing Officers.

Outcomes and Feedback

The program concluded with a valedictory function attended by the Principal of Golaghat Pub Anchalik College and Mr. Riyaz Rahul Haque from Dristi NGO.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive:

  • 21 participants rated the program as “Very Good”.
  • 7 participants rated it as “Excellent”.

While participants expressed a desire for more time on certain topics, they left the program equipped with vital knowledge. In alignment with digital initiatives, all certificates were issued in digital mode and sent directly to participants’ emails.
