Bridging technical vocational education with enterprise financing is key to transforming skilled youth into job creators. A comprehensive One-Day Awareness Programme on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was successfully conducted at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Majuli, Assam.
The workshop was organized by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), State Office, Rupnagar, Guwahati (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India) to guide technical trainees on launching sustainable micro-enterprises and accessing central credit-linked subsidies.

Detailed PMEGP Scheme Orientation: Trainees received an in-depth walkthrough of the credit-linked subsidy system under PMEGP, project cost eligibility ceilings for manufacturing and service sectors, and government margin money subsidies.
Entrepreneurship & Application Guidance: Officials provided practical guidance on formulating Bankable Project Reports (DPR), navigating the digital application portal, and fulfilling documentation criteria.
Leveraging Technical Skilling for Enterprise: Emphasized how technical trades taught at ITI can be directly converted into viable rural enterprises, workshop setups, and micro-manufacturing units across Majuli.
Interactive Q&A Session: Trainees actively clarified questions regarding banking collateral norms, loan processing timelines, and post-disbursement support mechanisms.
